Bio:

Tomás Jerez Munera obtained, in 1997, the Honorary Prize of Saxophone End of Career at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid.

He was awarded the 1st Prize in the IV International Saxophone Competition Villa de Benidorm and was selected, in 2003, by the EUYWO -European Union Youth Wind Orchestra- for a concert tour in Germany, France, Holland, Belgium and Luxembourg.

As a soloist, he regularly offers concerts and recitals with piano in concert halls all over Europe and performs in many International Festivals both solo and with Folium Fugit, his quartet: Andorra SaxFest, X Ciclo de Conciertos de Música Contemporánea - Fundación BBVA, X Ciclo de Música Actual de Badajoz -supported by INAEM and the Centro Nacional de Difusión Musical-, Sociedad de Conciertos de Alicante, Festival Internacional Adolphe Sax (Paris, France), Festival Internacional de Saxofón de Sczecin (Poland), Festival Internacional de Teror (Gran Canaria), Festival Internacional de Música de Palma, IX Festival Internacional de Música Antigua de Gijón, V Congreso Iberoamericano de Compositores, Directores y Arregladores de Bandas Sinfónicas y Ensembles, Festival Internacional de Saxofón de Palmela 2012-2016 (Portugal), Academia Internacional de Saxofón (Oporto-Portugal), XI Encuentros Musicales de Capvern (France), World Saxophone Congresses in Montreal (Canada) and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, etc.

He has been part of the international jury at the CSMD of Poitiers (France) in the saxophone End of Career awards. He has the privilege of being the first Spanish saxophonist invited to be part of the jury of the End of Master Saxophone Awards of the CNSMDP - Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris-. He has collaborated with the Orquesta Sinfónica de la Comunidad de Madrid, Orquesta de Cámara Andrés Segovia and ORTVE, with whom he has made recordings for RNE, Ballet Nacional de España and the label “RTVE Música”.

Between 2007-2014 he was professor of Saxophone at the Centro Superior de Música del País Vasco -Musikene-, professor of Saxophone at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Castilla-La Mancha between 2018-2022 and he is soloist of the Banda Sinfónica Municipal de Albacete since 1994.

Since 2017, he has been an ambassador for the French wind instrument brand Henri Selmer Paris.
