Live in Madrid: Alla Danza is a live album by guitarist Pedro Jesús Gómez, recorded entirely live.
This work immerses us in a sonic journey where the guitar evokes the essence of dance throughout the centuries, exploring from the Spanish tradition to transcriptions of orchestral and piano repertoire, performed on a Musima Marneukirchen classical-contemporary guitar (ca. 1950), restored by José Miguel Moreno. The repertoire includes emblematic pieces such as Albéniz's Malagueña, Ravel's Pavane pour une infante défunte in an unpublished transcription by José Tomás and Joaquín Rodrigo's vibrant En los trigales. Rarities such as a manuscript version of Donizetti's Cavatina arranged by Leopoldo Urcullu are also featured, along with Bach's refined Sarabande and Leo Brouwer's Reinhardt Variations, which fuse jazz idiom with baroque counterpoint.
The album culminates with monumental works such as Joaquín Rodrigo's Tres piezas españolas and Gaspar Sanz's energetic Canarios, in an adaptation that evokes the essence of the baroque guitar.🎧 A testimony of virtuosity, sensitivity and interpretative depth, Live in Madrid: Alla Danza offers a unique experience for lovers of the guitar and classical music.
